Texas “Ex Gay Therapist” In Prison For Sexual Assault On Clients
Surprisingly, I've never heard of this local “ex gay therapist”, from nearby Irving, TX…..
Christopher Austin, a quack “ex gay therapist” was sentenced to 10 years in prison, 7 probation, for sexually assaulting his clients for years (and taking their money). Several clients testified, and Austin was sent packing with a $2,500 fine and having to register as a sex offender.
Austin has also taught a seminar at NARTH, and would talk about the “devastating spiritual effects on homosexual's hearts”.
Huh. Sounds more like it's the other way around. It's the “ex gays” with major issues.
Unfortunately I'm sure Austin has taken way more than $2,500 from his victims, and I don't know why it hasn't been made into law that if bogus “ex gay” therapy doesn't work, those clients should be fully refunded. Almost every one gets ripped off from quack “ex gay” therapy!
I've tried to look up any “ex gay therapy” websites owned by this Mr. Austin, and it seems they've been taken down (here and here). The description was: “Renew is a Christian-based therapy/recovery group for men who struggle with unwanted homosexuality. Our group consists of both married and single men who find homosexuality contrary to their values and morals. Resources: Excellent resource manual, $25 plus $5 postage. Other services: Individual professional counseling.”.
Seems he wasn't shy about begging for money either! What bottom-feeder “ex gay” doesn't?
