Sam Brownback pulls marriage 'facts' out of his posterior
GOP presidential hopeful (and long shot) Sen. Sam Brownback appeared at the National Catholic Men’s Conference this past weekend and repeated his forced birth advocacy position (even in the case of rape). He also underscored his opposition to marriage equality.
He also encouraged married couples to stay together, saying studies have shown that if couples weather hard times for five years, their marriages tend to last. After five years, “people are happier than those who have had a divorce,” Brownback said.
It was not clear what research he was citing.
So why is five years the magic number, Sam? Incidentally, Brownback was the only prez candidate invited by Family Life Center International.
