His version of the truth

From citizen journalists, we turn to “war journalists”, in this case Pat Dollard the former Hollywood glad hander turned self-aggrandizing military gonzo- groupie.

Dollard:

… traded a life of luxury as a Hollywood agent for that of a war journalist dodging bullets and shrapnel alongside the Marines in Iraq. He did it so you could see the truth…his version of the truth.

Thank goodness they provided the “his version of the truth” disclaimer.

From Dollard’s blog:

U.S. troops thwart a horrific plan to turn a new Baghdad girls school into a sprawling structural bomb. Under construction, large explosives were built into the walls, floors and ceilings.
Keep in mind that this is the work of people who American Leftists say are no more dangerous than “radical” American Christians. Actual quote of Tokyo Rosie: “I’m not afraid of Osama”. Well the little girls of Iraq are.

Very effective.

So there is your basic set-up (cute Iraqi girls in school) followed by the punch-to-the-gut (bereaved father carrying his mutilated daughter). Images used for maximum emotional impact. Except…what happened to the little girl in the bottom picture occurred in 2003 when we were “liberating” her from Saddam.

From Dollard’s comments:

Keep showing the truth Pat, we all appreciate it!

This must be that truthiness thing I keep hearing about.
