Reality bites: Kerry's not running for prez
Someone finally screamed in his ear that he has zero chance of winning the nomination. (AP):
“Two years ago, I sought the presidency to lead us on a different course,” he said on the Senate floor. “We came close … certainly close enough to be tempted to try again. There are powerful reasons to want to continue that fight now. But I have concluded this isn’t the time for me to mount a presidential campaign.”
Late last year I ran a series of “Please God, no” posts when he was thinking of running. Blenders ripped him a new one, particularly after he said this, two years too late, referring to the Swift Boat goons:
“I’m prepared to kick their ass from one end of America to the other,” said Kerry, in a strong hint that he intends to run for president once again.
I’m glad he spared himself — and us — the agony of another run. In a CNN/ORC poll on Wed found that 51% of Dems didn’t want to see Kerry run in 2008, and when he was put up against contenders, he polled at 5%, way behind sHillary (33%).
