YES! I can’t let this moment pass with a “ho hum, another milestone”.  There is, at long last, a woman serving as Speaker of the House, and I am celebrating — for what it means to me and my daughters, to all our daughters.  It’s time, it’s past time, and I think I have enough years left in my allotted lifespan to see a woman sworn in as President as well.

For those who want to triangulate that, yeah, it’s nice, but gender really shouldn’t matter, let the best candidate win, blah, blah, blah, let me assure you that I completeley agree — in theory.  When it truly no longer matters in the real world, that will be another cause for celebration.  Today, I salute Speaker Pelosi.  May she have a long and successful tenure.
