Was Santa Good To You?

Yesterday, in the midst of putting together The Peanut's brand new big girl bed — it's a lovely antique white bed with a trundle underneath so she'll have space for friends to sleepover in the years to come — she turned around and hugged my neck and said, "Merry Christmas, Momma.  This is the best Christmas ever!"

Sure feels that way to me.

We put cookies out for Santa last night and some carrots for the reindeer…and darn it all if they weren't almost all gone, with just one cookie and one carrot left on each plate, with nibbles out of them.  Guess delivering presents makes you work up an appetite.

The coffee is on, the cinnamon rolls have been popped in the oven, and The Peanut has opened her presents with the sort of gusto she usually reserves for chasing our dachshund.  Which is to say, we are having ourselves a merry little morning — and I sure hope that you are having one as well.

Here's the toy of choice from this morning's offering from Santa — the Fisher-Price Little People Time To Learn Preschool.  Let me tell you, the slide works for every possible toy and action figure — and it's great for matchbox cars, too.  Woo hoo!
