Blue America: A Video Thank You Note

Howie e-mailed me with a link and a note that a grassroots campaign volunteer put together a thank you note video for everyone involved in Blue America, and I wanted to share it with everyone this morning.

Scott Randolph was one of the local progressive candidates who used our Blue America materials to help win his state legislative race (in the Orlando area). One of his campaign volunteers — and local blogger — Darren Vierday put together a thank you video as a way of showing his gratitude to the members of the Firedoglake, Crooks and Liars and Down With Tyranny communities who were so generous in their committment to helping rescue our country and protecting our democracy.

Howie has more on the band whose music is featured and some other details about the video, but I thought you guys would get a kick out of this given how much effort everyone put into Blue America this year.

And I wanted to send a special thank you to Howie, who is a genius, and who has been such an amazing catalyst for Blue America. There are so many others to thank…Jane, John Amato, Jacqrat, Tommy Yum, Siun, Jamie, Pach, TRex, Rickie Lee, Ken…all of you guys, participating in comments and donations of time and money…but without Howie, we could never have gotten this off the ground. So thanks so much, Howie — we luv ya!

UPDATE:  The new GOP leadership team in the Senate will be Mitch McConnell as Minority Leader and Trent Lott — by one vote, reportedly — for Minority Whip.  I said this below, but it is worth repeating:  You know, the truly amusing thing about Lott — aside from his Thurmond baggage and all — is that he has been a thorn in the WH’s side since that whole mess and the Rove-led movement to toss Lott out on his ass in favor of the wildly unsuccessful Frist as Majority Leader. Methinks there are a bunch of folks in the GOP Senate caucus flipping a big ole finger at the WH with this vote.
