No moral authority
There may be less folks listening to God from Ratzi’s perspective, but they sure as hell don’t need to listen to the pedophile-enabling Prada Pope. (AP):
Pope Benedict XVI rebuked his fellow Germans and other Western societies Sunday, saying they often shut their ears to the Christian message and insisting that the modern world’s science and technology alone cannot combat AIDS and other social ills.
Addressing 250,000 pilgrims at an open air Mass, Benedict said modern people suffer from “hardness of hearing” when it comes to God and complained that “mockery of the sacred” is viewed as an exercise in freedom.
“Put simply, we are no longer able to hear God — there are too many different frequencies filling our ears,” Benedict told the crowd, which stood quietly shoulder-to-shoulder on a field on the outskirts of Munich, where he served as archbishop from 1977 to 1982.
Would one of those frequencies be the lawyers for Benedict and Co, attempting to hush up the families devastated by molesting priests run amok, shuffled around as they got caught ruining the lives of children? If there’s anyone who’s not listening to the Christian message, it’s the man sitting in the big chair in the Vatican…witness:
A former Los Angeles priest accused of sexually abusing four people as children is asking an appeals court to block the release of his church personnel records.
Lynn Caffoe, who was suspended from the priesthood 15 years ago after being accused of molestation, claims disclosure of the confidential files would violate his rights. Attorney Katherine K. Freberg, who represents the four alleged victims, predicted the files would show ”the church’s continuing cover-up and protection of these priests.”
”Father Caffoe and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles will do anything possible to keep these documents from seeing the light of day,” Freberg said.
A defrocked Roman Catholic priest from Hamil ton who in 2003 was sentenced to a lengthy prison term after he was convicted of sexually molesting an altar boy has been indicted on new charges alleging he molested another child more than a decade ago, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office announced yesterday.
Hmmm…it’s like shooting fish in a barrel…
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee has agreed to pay more than $16 million to settle sexual abuse claims involving 10 victims in California and two priests, one transferred there by the archdiocese, church officials said Friday.
…Nine claims were against Siegfried Widera. The other was against Franklyn Becker, who worked in California and has since left the priesthood, the archdiocese said….The firm said one boy was abused over several years, including during a trip with Widera. Another claimed he was abuse starting shortly after his father died. Several instances of abuse happened while the boys were to be praying with Widera.
Mike Tidmus passes along another beaut:

A dedicated fashionista and self-styled homophobe, who recently referred to gay rights as an “ephemeral social trend,” the dapper pontiff, in addition to his well-worn Prada loafers, is sporting a new chapeau (pictured above) from the exclusive Milano collection of Saturno & Santorum. The SS boys are the hottest thing since Dolce & Gabbana went splitsville, and the Pope has wisely selected a hot little number from their tasty Uranus line, which is available in both Inquisition Blood Red and Santorum Deep Beige.
