And Another Thing…

(Update — C&L has the amusing Iger tapdance. Funny ha-ha.)

The pushback against the ABC 9/11 fraud-u-drama started in the blogs, but it’s nice to see it didn’t end there. Emboldened no doubt by Big Dog’s actions, former  9/11 commission member Jamie Gorelick gives Robert Iger a bit of stick:

Dear Mr. Iger:

I have not had the benefit of seeing "The Path to 9/11," though I have seen clips on the television news shows reflecting key scenes, and I have talked with some who have seen the first part of the series.

I have no problem with your creating a fictionalized account of the events leading up to 9/11. I do have a problem if you make claims that the program is based upon the findings of the 9/11 Commission Report when the actors, scenes and statements in the series are not found in — and, indeed, are contradicted by — our findings.

This concern applies whether the mischaracterization apply to a Republican Administration or a Democratic one. It is critically important to the safety of our nation that our citizens, and particularly our school children, understand what actually happened and why — so that we can proceed from a common understanding of what went wrong and act with unity to make our country safer. I hope that you will correct the record before the series airs.

As a side note — if Iger didn’t want people offering up criticism of the series before it was at the final cut stage, why did he blast copies to right wing bloggers?  Is it because he knew they’re such a bunch of trained monkeys they’d never  speak out against the official Bush Whitewash of History Canon?

Authoritarian cultists really do make the best critics.
