California bigots fall short on second try of marriage amendment petition

What is up with the wingnuts in the Golden State? They have several anti-same-sex marriage groups trying to collect signatures for forms of an amendment and none of them are getting anywhere in terms of meeting deadlines to move their proposals forward. Geez, you would think these dolts would be more organized than this. (365gay):

ProtectMarriage admitted earlier this year it was having trouble collecting signatures and also missed an earlier deadline. A second group the Campaign for Children and Families also missed the earlier deadline and said it was concentrating its efforts on getting its proposed amendment on the 2008 ballot.

The two groups have slightly versions of the ban on gay marriage, although both – if passed by voters – would accomplish the same thing.

Both groups now must start again collecting signatures. Meanwhile, two smaller organizations have also announced they too will begin collecting signatures for anti-gay marriage initiatives.
