Morning everyone — happy Jack Abramoff Sentencing in Florida Day.  Looks like Jack still has a few friends on the Hill.  But today, it’s all about the sentencing judge — and the proffer as to what cooperation Jackie Boy has been giving the Feds.  Should be interesting…

Yesterday’s response to our call for action against the Rubber Stamp Republican Congress was amazing.  We had more than 200 orders in a single day — most of which were for multiple rubber stamps — all of which will be on their way today.

I just wanted to take a moment to tell you what a difference you have all made — not just in standing up and participating in a moment of citizen democracy — but also in the lives of the folks who own this business.  It’s a woman-owned small business in Michigan, and we were told yesterday that the orders we placed in a single day were more than they usually do in an entire month.  As a former business owner myself when I was in private practice, I can tell you that sort of business windfall can make a world of difference — and I’m so pleased that we could help them out while trying to help our nation as well.

The stamp company was so happy yesterday that they offered us a great discount (20%!) on orders — and will be drop shipping everything in one big box to hold down on shipping costs.  The 20% discount on orders continues today until noon.  (A big thank you to reader Keith in Orlando who turned into our stamp order chosen one yesterday and got the news about the discount.  Thanks, Keith!)  NOTE:  To get the 20% discount, type in SPRING in all caps into the appropriate box at check-out.

We’re asking everyone who can participate in this to place their orders today.  To allow for shipping time and to get our message out when we want to do so, we’re trying to coordinate time and impact — and if you can place your orders no later than today, that is the best possible way to help us.

You can order your stamp from The Stamp Maker .

Type in Rubber Stamp Republican Congress.

Choose TIMES 14 Font (the larger the font the higher the cost)

Press Show me my stamp

Press Add to cart

Press No thanks for the ink pad

Then pay for your stamp and make sure to ship it to this address:

1612 K St.

Washington, DC 20006

The stamps cost  $6.50 each (plus shipping) (this is the cost if you select the font and size we specify above, just fyi, since different fonts and sizes have different costs).  NOTE:  To get the 20% discount, type in SPRING in all caps into the appropriate box at check-out.  We’d like to have these ordered no later than Wednesday, March 29th at 11:00 am.  If you have any questions about this, please ask them in the comments and I’ll do my best to answer them.  We have some very fun plans for this — and we are hoping to send a message, so the more stamps we get, the more we get to deliver.

Thanks so much to everyone who has participated in this.  For the folks who can’t do this — and trust me, I have so been on that end of the income scale in my lifetime! — and for folks who have ordered stamps but still want to do more, you can help enormously by faxing the members of the Judiciary Committee and telling them that you think the President should be held accountable for breaking the law

(Big thanks to reader neojoe for the fabu graphic.)
