Operation Swarmer a goose egg PR stunt

John at AmericaBlog says exactly what I was going to post about this:

Psyche! Who could have ever imagined that the Bush administration would lie to the mainstream media?

It’s nice to see that the Rove PR machine can still gear up and makes the MSM suck him and the Chimp off once again to try for a poll bump. At least the media only gave a 48-hour bj this time before waking up and finding out no pay was forthcoming.

But contrary to what many many television networks erroneously reported, the operation was by no means the largest use of airpower since the start of the war. (“Air Assault” is a military term that refers specifically to transporting troops into an area.) In fact, there were no airstrikes and no leading insurgents were nabbed in an operation that some skeptical military analysts described as little more than a photo op. What’s more, there were no shots fired at all and the units had met no resistance, said the U.S. and Iraqi commanders.

The scary thing is that this president has no problem, time and again, using our troops (and now Iraqi soldiers) as media manipulation devices, placing them in harm’s way to save his own ass or forward his agenda.

The main message of the “operation” at this point, seems to be to “prove” the Iraqis are “in control” and therefore, prepare the sheeple for a pullout so Dear Leader has some cover as the war has descended into chaos.

Tell me, how can even 30% support this evil, incompetent flaming pile of crap occupying the Oval Office?
