The George W. Bush Approval Map
You like it, you love it, you can’t get enough of it! I’ve just updated The George W. Bush Approval Map (and forgive me, made it 800×600, so it won’t fit on the Blend page – click the thumbnail for the full-size view) with the latest state-by-state Net Approval Ratings (Bush’s approval rating minus his disapproval rating) from December 2005. I’ve also included the actual percentages for each state, as well as a national barometer of Bush Approval, weighted by state population (i.e., California’s hatred of Bush is worth 71 times more than Wyoming’s love of Bush). Feel free to copy, steal, and repost the map, so long as you do not change the graphic in any way.
Data courtesy of SurveyUSA. (Surf over and check out Cheney’s ratings. My computer doesn’t have a blue dark enough to register the hatred of Cheney.)
And just for the heck of it, a quote I picked up from Huffington Post:
“The surface of American society is covered with a layer of democratic paint, but from time to time one can see the old aristocratic colors breaking through,” — Alexis de Tocqueville
