Poignant and Powerful

I’m hearing the same things from friends who are active and retired military that are presented in this editorial, and there is a great fear that the mis-use of the military by this Administration and the continued poor planning will break the Army and the Marines. The strain has been that bad, especially in the National Guard and Reserves.

Nothing with the power of this letter, though. Do yourself a favor and read this.

And while we are talking poignant, this op-ed from New Orleans is exceptional and certainly worth a read.

It is so easy to lose yourself in the politics and the details in the news every day. But a reminder of the human beings involved in those stories really brings home how important it is to make careful decisions — because the consequences of making bad choices isn’t just some numbers adding up in your paperwork, it is all those lives lost and the lives of those left behind.
