Mea Culpa, Mea Sucka
From a link on Eschaton, David Frum writes:
Nor is it safe for the president’s conservative supporters to defer to the president’s judgment and say, “Well, he must know best.” The record shows I fear that the president’s judgment has always been at its worst on personnel matters.
First we have to note that Frum was employed by Bush as a speechwriter, so that joke kind of writes itself.
But what we really have to point out is that, in an administration full of screw-ups from Rumsfeld to Wolfowitz to Tenet to Condi to Brown to Chertoff to Feith to Bolton , Frum is one of the few, the proud, the so-completely-horrendous that he managed to get himself canned.
That’s got to count for something…
