Novakula sees the stake and freaks out on live TV
Novakula from Russ.
[UPDATE: added some entertaining Freeper comments below.]
The Prince of Darkness knew in advance that he was going to be asked about the Plame leak on CNN’s Inside Politics, so he screamed out “bullshit” and walked off during a discussion on theatrical make-up maven and Florida Senate candidate Katherine Harris (below) after James Carville must have pulled out a clove of of garlic and a stake.
Novak: Just let me finish what I’m going to say, James, please. I know you hate to hear me —
Carville: He’s got to show these right-wingers that he’s got a back bone, ya know? Wall Street Journal editorial page is watching. You show ‘em you’re tough…
Novak: You know I think that’s bullshit. And I hate that. Just let it go.
Novak removes his microphone and walks off the set.
Nothing remarkable was said to actually piss Novak off, as you can see, but he knew the stake was about to get hammered into his evil heart, and so he turned into a bat and flew off, back to the coffin.
The undead — will he rise again? CNN suspended him, according to the AP:
A CNN spokeswoman, Edie Emery, called Novak’s behavior “inexcusable and unacceptable.” Novak had apologized to CNN, and CNN was apologizing to viewers, she said.
“We’ve asked Mr. Novak to take some time off,” she said.
As Novakula retreated to the crypt, he probably checked in with his Freepi brethren, who loyally defended their cryptmate, some even debating whether The Prince of Darkness was Jewish or a member of Opus Dei (!).
“CNN has only had Novak on as their token conservative (since he is and has been a registered Democrat.) Libs HATE him but they mostly hate him because he is really smart, has excellent sources, articulate, but the worst of all sin – he is a Christian. That would be bad enough in itself, but he is also a Jew!”
“I had never heard that Novak was Jewish, but rather that he was a very devout Catholic and a member of Opus Dei. Can someone elaborate on this or point me to a link about his connection to Judaism? Did he convert at some point?”
“I hope Mr. Novak decides to tell everything he knows about the Plame mess…SOON.”
“I don’t get why he got into such a fit? Now he is fresh fodder /meat/fish for the Daily Show which loves to hate him.”
“Not surprising. I remember reading a story stating that many people in Washington have seen Novak, from his convertable Corvette, cursing and swearing at pedestrians and drivers. Anyway, I hope I have as much spirit as he does when I reach his age.”
“Novak got rich off CNN. The fact that he apologised to that serpent places him in my “whore list'”
“There ia a strong implication from the article is that Noval did this to avoid being asked about the lame plame case”
“Robert. Get a grip. If you’ve got something to say write a column. You won’t be interrupted. Put your best thoughts forward. We will listen……or better yet, get a FReeper screen name. Go directly to “we the people”. You won’t get $200, but you’ll have the floor.”
“IMHO, Robt Novak made a grave mistake here. Rather than cuss at Carville and walk off of the set, he should have casually walked over to James’ chair and pi$$ed on his serpent head. That’s what I would have done if I would ever get within 100 miles of a CNN set!!!!”
“Since everything on CNN is bullsh*t I don’t see the problem.”
“personally i think novak has taken enough years of the kind of outnumbered harassment cnn has handed out to conservatives. he has saved their bacon by representing the conservative “balance’ of 1 to 3 or 4 for years…he should have walked off long ago. i myself could never have lasted as long as he has. i don’ think there are any conservatives left to call on at cnn anymore….oh, what will they do???? how will they pretend they have BALANCE?”
“Carville makes me explode. I don’t know why Novak would be any different.”
“Not necessarily; FNC and others are airing the video as well. I think CNN’s big mistake here is suspending Novak instead of firing Carvile and the host who were so rude to Novak and kept interrupting him. I say, good on Novak for walking off the set.”
“It’s a badge of honor. Give ’em hell, Bob.”
“Time to retire Bob. The day you are unable to take on the James Carvilles of the talk show circuit is the day you need to step aside and let others do the work. Let Ann Coulter or Michelle Malkin have at Carville. I’d love to see Carville patronize them.”
