Pat Robertson's brain has turned to mush and Freepers agree

The looney fundamentalist thinks federal judges are a more serious threat to the U.S. than Al Qaeda and the Sept. 11 terrorists. (NY Daily News):

“Over 100 years, I think the gradual erosion of the consensus that’s held our country together is probably more serious than a few bearded terrorists who fly into buildings,” Robertson said on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”

“I think we have controlled Al Qaeda,” the 700 Club host said, but warned of “erosion at home” and said judges were creating a “tyranny of oligarchy.” Confronted by Stephanopoulos on his claims that an out-of-control liberal judiciary is the worst threat America has faced in 400 years – worse than Nazi Germany, Japan and the Civil War – Robertson didn’t back down.

Yes, I really believe that,” he said. “I think they are destroying the fabric that holds our nation together.”

I had to visit Freeperland to see what they were thinking about this latest bible-beater eruption. They are not happy…

“As much as i like the guy comments like these are over the line. I think the judiciary is a threat, but saying that a bunch of unelected judges are worse than terrorists who want to blow us up is silly. Robertson really should take back what he said.”

“Man oh man..this is SURE to raise the credibility of the Republican Party and conservatives in general. Get a grip, Pat.”

“I’m no fan of Robertson, but the basic hypothesis has some good arguments for it. AQ killed 3000 Americans, judges have killed 40,000,000 and counting.”

“What a stupid thing to say! This will of course be used against the cause of stopping judicial activism. With friends like this, who needs enemies? It’s as bad as the abortionist killers or the Phelps “God hates f**s” people for harming the cause of decency, pro-life, pro-family and judicial restraint.”

“Everyone please pray for Pat!”

“What a stupid thing to say, especially after the Delay fracas. He’s senile and should be replaced.”

“Only difference between Pat Roberts and someone like Paul Crouch is better clothes and smoother delivery. In his heart, he is a bitter little snake-oil salesman, nothing more.”

“He may not have worded it correctly, but I think his premise is not so off. Judges have the potential to take down the country more effectively than the terrorists. Particularly now that Al Queda has been checked. Not to mention that judges have allowed millions of babies to be killed through judicial activism. That is pretty serious stuff.”

“While the general idea is somewhat true(that judges have been screwing with us) to run off and say things like this only hurt our cause. How often have we seen democrats not condem their politicans for saying ridiculous things and those of us here on freerepublic get mad at them for not doing it. When robertson says something like this it doesn’t help our cause and you know libs will just throw it back in our face.”

“Someone show Pat a picture of the Jet hitting the tower and then ask him how judges are worse than that.”

“I have no use for judges, but that comment was dumb.”

“Pat Robertson was also a blame America first type from what I remember.”

“His statement is incendiary and self-defeating. Nothing positive comes from rhetoric like this. It does nothing more than feed the agenda of the Left.”

“When Pat retired as head of CC, he should have retired for good. He’s getting that disease so many old guys get…..weak mindedness.”

“There are good judges and bad judges. There are no good Al-Qeada. Judges are integral to running a society governed by law. Terrorists are not. We may need to replace some judges, but do we really need to replace Al-Qeada?”

“Now, now, don’t let facts get in the way of the bashing of a decent man.”

“I think he is going to regret making that remark.”

“6 million babies shredded or poisoned or strangled to death every year in the womb is the fault of judges, so he has a point.”

“With friends like these, who needs enemies? This is not the first time that Pat Robertson was talking in front of reporters and said something that almost anyone would have known was a barking, moonbat remark. The loony left will trumpet this remark and claim that Robertson is “driving the Republicans.” The Republicans will play turtle, and fail to condemn Robertson as a moonbat, because they want to retain the votes even of Robertson’s small hard core of fellow moonbats. And therefore, the Democrat charge will stick with a few members of the public, and God help us if it sticks with a few Senators.”

“So, this is a classic example of a fringe player in politics using an available platform to say something really stupid that HURTS rather than helps the legitimate cause that he supports.”

“Hey, Pat, should we round up the judges and bring them to justice? Kill a few thousand of them? They’re worse than al-Qaida you say.”

“What a freakin’ moron. I hope the federal judge living next door to him sells to an al-Qaida terrorist. He’ll feel safer. Dang, he’s an idiot.”

“Pat Robertson is an effin’ idiot, and he and Jerry Falwall have done more to discredit Christianity than anyone since Jim Bakker.”

“As long as we’re putting his comments into perspective let’s put abortion into perspective, it might be Roe Vs Wade that allows it but it’s people who are choosing to get them. For every life prematurely ended that’s a choice someone made. Those are two separate things that need to be tackled, it isn’t enough to go after the judges.”

“Pat Robertson is hereby promoted from “Idiot First Class” to “Supreme Moron.” He and his faculty teach this crapola at that aslyum for dull normals they call a law school.”
