Out of left field
Honestly, I’m surprised at the selection of Elfriede Jelinek for the 2004 Nobel Literature prize. I’m not going to try and sound like I’ve ever heard of her, because I haven’t (and be leery of those who say things like “Well, I’ve always found her to be quite jejune…”. They’ve probably never heard of her either.)
I’m just kind of disappointed. I had Margaret Atwood in my office pool.
The folks over at The Corner are also disappointed that the Nobel committee didn’t acknowledge their entry: Taxicab Confessions: The Driver Always Agrees.
