A sign from God
No, it wasn’t a voice from the sky or a burning bush, but it was appreciated all the same:
The structural failure of a ceiling grid at an Atlantic City, New Jersey, venue over the weekend may have brought the Justin Timberlake/Christina Aguilera tour to an abrupt end.
The incident occurred around 1 p.m. Saturday as the stage was being set up for that night’s stop on the pop duo’s co-headlining Justified & Stripped trek at the seaside casino town’s Boardwalk Hall.
Damage to the tour’s stage as well as lighting, sound and video equipment is estimated at more than $1 million, according to a statement from Timberlake, and forced the postponement of Saturday’s show. Monday’s stop at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, New York, has also been officially postponed.
Ticketholders are being encouraged to hold onto their tickets for rescheduled concerts.
At deadline, it was unknown if the tour would be able to complete its eight remaining dates as scheduled.
