For years, news organizations interested in quick and easy traffic have had specially-assigned writers who post about clips from “The Daily Show.” But, as Jon Stewart prepares to leave the show, reporters are facing reassignment and even potential firings as media prepare to lose a cheap source of traffic.

An editor of an ailing media organization shared how management will miss having posts each week that get people, who never read us, to spend time on our website.

“We will probably have to fire our young writer, whose job it has been to post about Jon Stewart clips and only Jon Stewart clips,” the editor declared.
