Majority of Americans Want to Cut Off Military Aid to Egypt

A majority of Americans want the United States to cut off military aid to Egypt in light of recent developments. By a nearly a two-to-one margin Americans would prefer to see the aid cut off. From Pew Research:

I think the wording of the question unfairly causes the poll to overstate the lack of support for giving the Egyptian military billions. The wording implies continuing the aid actually buys influence, but that may not be true. Obviously, the “influence” we supposedly bought wasn’t enough to convince the military to accept a political compromise.
