Mother’s Day: Miss California’s Mom and Marie Osmond

marie_osmond.thumbnail.jpgcarrie-values2.bmpOkay, just as I was so over Miss California, the Star  drops this morsel: Miss California’s mom–who got a shout out from the Donald at last week’s press conference–had a girl friend up until the night of the pageant.  The Star reports that Carrie Prejean’s mom was dating Valerie Vetrano, and according to a friend, felt that her family and Christian faith wouldn’t accept the situation. The friend told the Star:

Valerie feels that if Francine had just been open about her sexuality with her family, Carrie would have a better understanding of what gay people have to go through.

But maybe Carrie Prejean isn’t opposed to same-sex dating, just same-sex marriage….

Meanwhile Mormon Marie Osmond told "Entertainment Tonight" that she supports her oldest daughter Jessica coming out and has no problem with her her daughter’s sexuality:

I love my daughter! She’s my baby girl, come on. So what if she’s gay? She’s my daughter and she’s an amazing woman and a good kid. I raised her, she better be good. I think it’s sad when we have to separate something from society. Whether it’s, ‘Oh you’re Jewish,’ and then it was ‘Oh you’re a Mormon,’ or ‘Oh you’re gay.’ I love real people. A lot of women out there have gay children. Who cares? I want love. I’m a Christian and Christ loved everybody.

Maybe Marie should sit down with Carrie Prejean and help her understand the nature of Christ.
