World AIDS Day

Monday December 1 is the 20th World Aids Day.

I just got this email and am planning on attending this local event:

One of the casualties of Maine’s struggling economy is AIDS

prevention, which is experiencing serious cuts in the state

budget.

To voice your support for effective AIDS prevention funding, and

to honor those who have died from or are living with AIDS,

please join Governor Baldacci and other leaders for a World AIDS

Day event on Monday, December 1, 12:30 to 1:30 pm at the Hall of

Flags in the State House, Augusta.

Check the Maine AIDS Alliance’s website for more information on

the event, and for information on World AIDS Day events around

the state. Click here: http://www.maineaidsalliance.o…

AIDS hasn’t gone away — and it won’t, unless we stand together

to fight this disease. Times are tough, but we can’t let

prevention funding be erased.

Please join us on World AIDS Day, Monday, December 1!

Sincerely,

Betsy Smith

Executive Director

As a former hospital lab tech, I worked with so many AIDS patients- some of them touched my heart and changed me forever.

It seems unbelieveable that, in the 25 years since I was a student, that so much misunderstanding exists.

That so much need for support is needed…

Please join me.
